* Fast growing shrub. Regular cutting stimulates multiple stems and increases yields of leaf.

* Used in contour hedgerows and for alley cropping.
* Good quality feed, foliage cut for stock feed or used as mulch.
* Flowers and seeds about 7 months after planting. Numerous flowers producing high yields of seed.
* Best to mix with other forage crops.

Planting Guide:

Step 1: Land preparation
Make sure the field is clean before planting.

Step 2: Seed preparation
Soak the seeds in water for 8 to 12 hours (overnight) before planting.

Step 3: Planting

Option #1 (Seedlings): Sow the seeds in seedbags until they reach at least 1 foot in height. Transplant the seedlings at 2 to 3 feet distance in between plants. Watering is every two (2) to three (3) days.

Option #2 (Direct seeding): Create lines using a bolo at 2 to 3 feet distance in between rows. Pour one (1) pinch of seeds in a one (1) meter long line.

Note:
When planting the seeds, just cover them with little soil (sort of like the size of the seeds themselves). Be sure to plant them after a rain or slightly wet soil. If you cover them with lots of soil, the seeds will rot and won’t grow. Ground clearing is necessary within 3 to 5 months after planting. You may apply animal manure as natural soil nutrient supplement.
