Calathea concinna ‘Freddie’ is a Prayer Plant with elongated, shiny light green leaves which are ruffled at the margins, striped with patches of an attractive darker green, which lends it the common name Zebra Plant.

Calathea Freddie, aka Calathea Concinna Freddie, is known for its beautiful striped green foliage. Like most members of the Marantaceae, or “Prayer Plant” family, Freddie has a habit of opening and closing its leaves as day transitions to night. Its leaves are a stunning reminder of the beauty of the natural world.

Calathea plants are said to symbolise new beginnings, which relates nicely to fact that the plant closes its’ leaves during night, and opens again afresh in the morning.
